My name is Steve Wortley and I am the Conservative Candidate for the upcoming County Elections. I was born right here in Cheshunt and lived my whole life in the Borough. I went to Flamsted End Junior School and then on to Turnford Senior School (now Haileybury Turnford).
I am a Husband and a Dad who has a family business right here in Cheshunt and somebody who loves where we live.
Back in 2015 I was elected as a Local Borough of Broxbourne Councillor for Hoddesdon North. Since then I have been involved with several key projects within the Borough and held various positions including the one of Mayor of this wonderful place we live. I got to meet so many people who do so much, it inspired me to do more. Working with the Community shows me undeniably the brilliant results that can be achieved when everyone pulls together, and this, in my opinion, is displayed perfectly in the incredible turnaround of the vibrancy of Hoddesdon Town Centre and the surrounding area.
As I am hugely passionate about our surroundings and therefore when the opportunity to become a County Council Candidate became available I had no hesitation in stepping forward. I am extremely proud of where we live and I not only want to protect the history and environment that we already have, I also want to make the Town fit for our Children and future generations and I am only too aware that you feel the same. I am constantly in awe of our surroundings (my Twitter timeline is full of this) and because I live here too, nobody will fight harder to do the right things for this place we all call home, and it is for this reason I hope I can count on your support on Thursday 6th May 2021.
