Paula Hiscocks

I have  lived in Rickmansworth for 35 years and my two children both went to local schools .
After doing a degree in English and History at Reading I started my  career in Sweden with The British Council. Moving back to London after 5 years and teaching English at secondary schools in Brent and Hertfordshire.
After moving to Rickmansworth I worked at  local primary schools while my children were young then at Hertfordshire Language and Curriculum Support unit advising teachers.

 I was instrumental in saving Watersmeet theatre in 2003.
We  ran it as a trust and  founded the Friends of Watersmeet and started  the successful Friends of Watersmeet Film Society. This lead to me being asked if I would become a district councillor.

In 2008  I stood for Rickmaswoth Town at a by-election and have continued to work hard for all residents for the past 12 years .
I have been a school governor at St Marys for the last 12 years.
